Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran was a businesswoman, investor and speaker from the United American. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. She sold the company to NRT for $66 millions. In the following months she resigned from the business. Corcoran was one of the original Shark Tank investors. She has appeared in every season of ABC's Shark Tank. Corcoran had signed 53 contracts until February 2020. Her largest deal was her $350,000 investment in Coverplay with a 40% stake. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in a Catholic Irish working class family. Florence Corcoran's mom, was a homemaker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. her father, was a multi-talented worker throughout Corcoran's early years. Her family often relied on free food delivery from a local grocery store. Corcoran still remembers her father as someone who drank often and did not treat her mother with respect. Corcoran was struggling at school and later found out that she was dyslexic. Corcoran entered the high school system at St. Cecilia High School Englewood following her departure from her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran was a failure in many classes during her first year of high school, was moved to Leonia High School. There she was awarded a D.
